Hyundai Motors Announces New and Future Innovations

Hyundai Motors has been hard at work in 2015 working on its Hyundai future models, which will continue the company's stellar leadership in automotive innovations even further into the 21st century.

Genesis - A New Global Luxury Brand

One of the future Hyundai cars that is about to hit show rooms is the global luxury brand Genesis. The focus of Genesis is to deliver highly human-centered luxury via several new models that have the highest design, innovation and performance standards.

Genesis will be a stand-alone brand that operates right alongside the Hyundai brand. Hyundai Motor plans to launch six Genesis models by the end of 2020 which will be competing with the top luxury models in the world.

The Genesis brand wants to create an entire new definition of vehicle luxury, one that is going to give an entire new platform for mobility with the main focus being on people and their needs.

Genesis models will focus on four very important aspects that will make them stand out in the luxury vehicle pack:

  • Human-focused innovation

  • Refined, balanced performance

  • Athletic elegance in design

  • Completely hassle-free customer experiences

The new Genesis brand will have a new winged emblem, which is being redesigned from the version that is currently used on Genesis vehicles. The new Genesis brand also will have a new alphanumeric naming structure. Genesis future models will have the letter G combined with a number, such as 70, 80 or 90.

Hyundai Developing Totally Autonomous Cars by 2030

Another major new innovation by Hyundai is that the car maker will produce fully autonomous cars that will be available to the public by 2030.

Hyundai stated in November 2015 that it will invest $9.75 billion in R&D over the next five years in driverless car technology. Future Hyundai vehicles will incorporate some of this technology, with fully autonomous cars slated for 15 years in the future.

Hyundai noted that one of the new Genesis models, the EQ900 will be launched in 2016 with some autonomous driving technology onboard. This will include advanced highway driving assist, which helps the driver to stay on the road and at an even speed on the highway.

The new Hyundai driving assist features also include smart cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane keep assist.

All of these exciting and innovative features in Hyundai vehicles now and in the future will help to keep Hyundai as one of the flagship vehicle manufacturers in the world.
