The 2016 Hyundai Veloster is offered in four trims at Rosen Hyundai: A base model that starts at $18,000 and upgraded Turbo R-Spec, Turbo, and Rally Edition trims that have starting MSRPs that range from $21,600 to $23,950.  While the standard Veloster model is an excellent and adaptable commuter vehicle that can attain 28 city, 36 highway MPG, its standard 132 hp 1.6L four-cylinder engine has been enhanced by the addition of twin-scroll turbocharger technology that belts out an impressive 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque for the Turbo R-Spec, Turbo, and Rally Edition models, giving them the horsepower and torque usually reserved for a larger car.  Given the 2016 Veloster's light 2,877 lbs. curb weight, compact design, and aerodynamically efficient 'Kammback' hatchback profile, this translates to rapid acceleration for its class as well as a responsive ride.  Equivalently priced 2016 Ford Focus SE and Titanium sedans and hatchbacks; however, come standard with a 2.0L Ti-VCT four-cylinder that can only manage 160 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque.  That means 2016 Focus models in the same price range as the 2016 Veloster Turbo R-Spec, Turbo, and Rally Edition, have 21 percent less power than the Hyundai offerings for sale at Rosen Hyundai.

 

RAW PEP ISN'T THE ONLY THING THAT SEPARATES THE 2016 HYUNDAI VELOSTER FROM THE 2016 FORD FOCUS
