Choose any gas V6 trim, SE through Calligraphy and including the off-road XRT PRO, and the 2027 Palisade is rated for 5,000 pounds when the trailer has its own brakes. Pick a Palisade Hybrid, from the Blue SEL up to the Calligraphy Black Ink, and the rating is 4,000 pounds under the same condition. Without trailer brakes, both powertrains are limited to 1,650 pounds.

Where the hitch comes from depends on the trim. XRT PRO, Limited, and Calligraphy include a factory-installed receiver; SE, SEL, and SEL Premium are hitch-ready and take a Hyundai accessory hitch; ask our team about adding one. Hyundai does not publish a tongue-weight figure, so ask our team about brake-controller options when you spec a braked trailer.

Every 2027 Palisade, gas or hybrid, leaves the factory with Tow Mode, a Trailering Package that bundles 7-pin pre-wiring with heavy-duty engine and transmission coolers, Trailer Sway Control, and a rear self-leveling suspension that keeps the headlights aimed properly once the tongue weight settles on the hitch.

The V6 turns out 287 horsepower and 260 lb-ft through an 8-speed automatic; the hybrid delivers 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft through a 6-speed. HTRAC all-wheel drive is available across the lineup and standard on XRT PRO, and every HTRAC Palisade gets Terrain Mode Select and Downhill Brake Control for slick launch ramps and gravel campground roads. Fold that row flat and you have 46.3 cubic feet; fold the second row too and the load floor opens to 86.7 cubic feet. Those numbers hold for every seating layout and both powertrains, so the hybrid gives up nothing in cargo room.

From SEL up, a hands-free smart liftgate opens when you linger behind the bumper with the key, and Limited and Calligraphy add a power-folding third row. Roof rails rated for 220 pounds are standard from SEL, the easy answer for a cargo box or a pair of kayaks when the cabin is full of people.
